A Walk Through the Mud
We have often wondered what the students at Valhalla think of the mud holes, contaminated fill and unneeded turf field. The high school has been without a track now for five years. We salute Miss Stewart, her editor Mr. Columbo for their well researched and reported story.
We urge all residents to follow Miss Stewart's lead and take that walk around the grounds of the High School and Kensico School. Get your feet wet in mud. stand atop Sideshow Tom's Ziggurat, gaze into test pit 7. See for yourself, come to your own conclusions.
We sent the HS newspaper to the Comptroller's Department and ask why they reported that their was a drainage system under to carpet. As Miss Stewart points out and as any visitor could see, there is no drainage system. Auditors are supposed to verify assets, the Comptroller did not. Why would the district lie about this asset? Why did they lie about the vending machines paying for the turf field, the DEC oversight of the dumping, the phantom inprovements to the Columbus Avenue School, never made by Easter Seals. Why are they lying about the 1997 fill for fields proposal? Why the lies and the continued coverup.
Why, because until now no one has spoken out, no one has been held accountable. Now the children are speaking out. Follow their lead. Stand with them.
Contaminated Fields
Re-Elect the Board members that brought you this nightmare.
Side Shows and Circuses
Vote yes for the budget and colossal boondoggles like this climbing wall on the back of the High School are sure to continue. Vote no and the new board will appoint an audit committee, they will appoint a budget committee and the children will get an additional $1.3 million over last years budget.
No track
Sideshows like this rob the children of their high school experience.
AP Scores Dismal Again
Does anyone remember when we were told that playing softball on a skin infield was too dangerous and presented an insurance risk? And climbing this tower does not?
Valhalla being sued by the Athetic Director
A high wire act is needed more than a track?
Attorney General Investigating
If this dirt was removed from under the turf field, what did they put in its place? Why don't they test under the illegal artificial turf field?
